ML-1 starts from Karachi, passes through Kotri/ Hyderabad, Rohri, Multan, Lahore, Rawalpindi and terminates at Peshawar.
The ML-1 project, a 1,872km-long track from Peshawar to Karachi, will be completed in the next five years. The track will be fenced under the project. Bridges and crossings will also be constructed.
The Main Line-I (ML-I) project of Pakistan Railways, under which the Peshawar-Karachi track is to be upgraded, will create around 190,000 jobs (including both direct and indirect) for technical and non-technical workforce.

ML1 project envisages;
- Establishment of a dry port near Havelian Railway Station;
- Up gradation of Pakistan Railway Academy Walton in Lahore;
- Passenger facilities development of important railway stations

With ML-1:
