Lebanese Consortium to develop Lahore Master Plan 2050

Lebanese Consortium, Darul Handsa, has been selected after evaluation of the technical proposal submitted by the three companies for preparation of new Master Plan 2050 for Lahore, the provincial capital.

Lahore Development Authority Director-General Ahmed Aziz Tarar chaired a meeting of the consultant committee to finalise who will be selected. A financial bid of Rs520 million for the qualifying company was also opened during the meeting.

Two other companies in the running were Singapore’s Meinhardt and Pakistan’s Nespak.

The LDA director general said the new master plan will determine the future course of development of the provincial metropolis. Therefore, preparation of the new master plan in a transparent preparation was our top priority.

Additionally, experts and relevant stakeholders have been consulted for the definition of the Terms of Reference (TOR).

The meeting was attended by LDA Chief Metropolitan Planner Syed Muhammad Nadeem Akhtar Zaidi, Director Metropolitan Planning Faisal Qureshi, Water Specialist Muhammad Riaz, representatives of P&D Department and Finance Department, Chairman City and Regional Planning Department Engineering University Lahore Dr Shakir, TOR Committee members Engineer Akbar and Kamil. Representatives of the three consortia Darul Handsa (Lebanon), Mine Heart (Singapore) and Nespak (Pakistan) also attended the meeting.
