Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired the weekly meeting of National Coordinating Committee for Housing, Construction and Development. The Chairman CDA briefed the meeting regarding the construction work in Sector E-11, Islamabad.
The meeting was informed that separate rules have been framed for the projects in this sector and the pending projects will be completed soon. It was informed that in all new constructions special care will be taken for proper distance for parking and passage.
A briefing was also given on the New Blue Area project.
Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa briefed about the master plan of 11 major cities of the province. The meeting was informed that master planning is underway for 8 locations in the tribal districts.
The Chief Secretary Sindh apprised about the progress of construction projects on which the Prime Minister expressed dissatisfaction. The Prime Minister called for special attention to be paid to environmental protection in urban development and construction. Vegetables should be saved as much as possible and increased.
The Prime Minister said that the construction sector was stabilizing the economy and creating employment opportunities. He hoped that the provincial governments would reap the full benefits of the extension of benefits.
Earlier, The Capital Development Authority (CDA) decided to strictly ask the owners of housing societies and schemes to implement CDA and ICT Zoning Regulation.
Offices of a number of illegal housing schemes and societies have been sealed.
According to detail, Islamabad was divided into 5 zones according to ICT Zoning Regulation of 1992. Under zoning regulation, the planning and development for housing schemes can be done in the E-11 sector of Zone 1, an official of CDA said.
