RDA has warned the public against investing in “University Town” located near the New Islamabad Airport and has declared the purchase and sale of plots illegal.
RDA has formally requested DC Rawalpindi through NADRA to block the CNIC of the owner and sponsor of University Town.
Furthermore, DG RDA Kanza Murtaza has directed to impose a ban on the transfer, sale and purchase of land owned by the said developer. It has also been decided to put the name of the owner and sponsor on the ECL and register an FIR.
The proposal aims to prevent these individuals from liquidating their properties and leaving the country without addressing the grievances of the allottees.
Residents and allottees of the University Town — situated near the motorway toll plaza – have long endured serious difficulties owing to the absence of basic facilities and the near-total halt in development work in the society. After multiple rounds of discussions between the RDA officials, the scheme’s owners and sponsors, and representatives of the allottees, the matter was escalated.
Following directives from Punjab Secretary Housing Noorul Amin Mengal, RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza constituted a Joint Action Team led by Additional Director General Mansoor Ahmed Khan to review the matter.
